Our Team

At Shanta Physio we understand the frustration of losing functional freedom. Our experienced team has extensive knowledge and avoids the ‘cookie-cutter’ approach to physiotherapy and acupuncture.

We treat the body as a whole and manage each condition individually and holistically, because one size doesn’t fit all.

Steve Shanta

Director | Senior Physiotherapist | Surfer

Steve practices with a variety of techniques to treat all aspects of the human body. His holistic treatments combine manual and manipulative therapy, movement rehabilitation and functional exercise to reduce pain, improve movement and enhance physical performance.

As a keen surfer, snowboarder and rock climber, Steve understands the importance of doing the things you love and the significance an injury has on ones life.

By educating and empowering patients with the knowledge and strategies to manage their conditions, Steve believes that the treatment lasts a lot longer than in the clinic. If you are willing and motivated, you will get better.

Becki Stafford

Physiotherapist | Pilates Instructor | Giraffe Lover

A musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Becki’s been practicing for over five years. With a particular passion for empowering and strengthening women, she has extended this interest to include both pre and post natal rehabilitation.

Pilates trained, she has been teaching both mat and reformer variations for the duration of her career.

Taking her continued education into her own hands, since graduating from AUT Becki has gone on to complete postgraduate studies on the mechanisms and management of pain, in addition to vocational rehabilitation.

Becki has an overriding philosophy of person-centered care, believing that focusing on the person as a whole is key in the successful treatment of injuries.

Outside of work, she has a specific interest in ecological conservation and giraffes.

Cindy Lee

Acupuncturist | Facial Therapist | Charcutier

Coming from a background treating all types of people and injuries from professional athletes, dancers, and everyday weekend warriors, Cindy is sure to help you with injury, reducing pain, improving recovery time and enhancing your overall wellbeing.

Cindy also specialises in facial acupuncture, a non-invasive alternative to traditional cosmetic procedures, offering natural rejuvenation and revitalization of the skin quality.

When she’s not treating people in the clinic she enjoys interior design, transforming houses into homes, and can often be found meeting random doggies at the park.

Jessie Grant

Administrator | Receptionist | Clinic Cheerleader

You’ll find Jessie at the heart of our front desk operations. Whether coordinating appointments, managing patient inquiries, or keeping the front desk running smoothly, she is always ready to help with a smile.

Jessie’s idea of a good time? Snowboarding, figure skating, volleyball, and hiking. She’s Canadian—born with skates on and raised to believe every frozen surface is a skating opportunity. Let’s just say Auckland’s puddles are really testing that optimism.

With her friendly energy, Jessie is always here to help and looks forward to welcoming you at your next visit.
